The multi-storey car park and top-level coach / taxi terminus, for instance, and the effective use of space alongside the apron between the main terminal building and the old tower seem to me to make excellent use of the existing space, while maximising the potential for increasing the services offered. Having grown up under the flight path in Congresbury, where my mother still lives, I have noticed that despite the greater number of flights these days the noise levels are far less than they used to be, so that is not a concern for me. The only area that I believe needs close attention is road access, where I believe the responsibility lies more with the council than the airport. The concerns of local residents living along the back lane to Backwell would no doubt be greatly alleviated if the go-ahead were finally given for the A370-A38 link road across from the Long Ashton by-pass. I'd therefore like to see not only this application given the green light, but progress to be made ASAP on the link road as well. Add to that the new Bristol City football stadium and by the time the World Cup comes to the city (hopefully!) in 2018 we could have a transport infrastructure in the South Bristol / North Somerset area that is truly fit for the 21st century.
