Greenbelt land should be protected for the majority, not developed for the minority. 2. The proposal is totally out of proportion to the existing village of Failand. 3. There is no requirement for a further 500 homes in the area, nor is there a requirement for a school, care home or a business park or a further convenience store. Proper due dilligence would have identified this. 4. The developement would have a devastating effect on local wildlife and Ashton Hill Woods. 5. No changes in road infrastructure are offered as part of the proposal , which will bring significant increase in traffic congestion. 6. A radical change in the local plan would be needed to allow such a developement in the greenbelt and this does not exist. If the developement was to be allowed the only winners would be the landowners and developers who would profit it from it. Residents of Failand, will gain nothing and the people of Bristol and surrounding areas will lose yet more green surroundings.
